5 Easy At-Home Barista Recipes

Hey friends! Today, I’m sharing five easy at-home barista recipes. As a former barista, I like to switch up my coffee drinks fairly often. At the beginning of quarantine, I was getting bored with drinking plain old coffee every day so I purchased an espresso machine and started whipping up some barista creations. The five drinks I’m sharing today are all made with basic ingredients that I already had at home.

If you are a coffee lover like myself or if you know any coffee lovers, be sure to check out this gift guide that rounds up several fun and practical gifts for coffee lovers. I’ve found that you can never go wrong with giving the gift of coffee or a coffee accessory for any occasion!

My Nespresso machine (pictured above) is my favorite and most-used purchase of 2020. I highly recommend this model because it froths the milk and pours the espresso shots in one easy step (with some other Nespresso/espresso machines you have to froth the milk separately). I also love my monogram mug – this would make a great gift for any coffee lover in your life!

1. Iced Honey Latte

  • Honey
  • Milk
  • Espresso
  • Ice
  1. Put the honey in your cup first so that it easily mixes with the hot espresso shot(s).
  2. Add the espresso shot(s) and then stir the espresso and honey together. (*I use two espresso shots with approx. 12 oz. of milk. Your shot/milk ratio depends on how strong you want your drink to be in terms of taste and caffeine)
  3. Add your milk of choice + ice and enjoy!

2. Cinnamon Sugar Latte

  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar
  • Espresso
  • Milk
  1. Add a spoonful of sugar and a shake of cinnamon to the bottom of a coffee mug.
  2. Add espresso and steamed milk to mug.
  3. Stir together to mix sugar and cinnamon well.
  4. Optional: Top with whipped cream and/or cinnamon.

3. Iced Chai Tea Latte

  1. Mix one part chai tea concentrate with two parts of your milk of choice.
  2. Add ice and enjoy!

4. Cacao Latte

  • Cacao Powder
  • Espresso
  • Milk
  1. Add a scoop of cacao powder to the bottom of a coffee mug.
  2. Add espresso and steamed milk to mug.
  3. Stir together to mix cacao powder well.
  4. Optional: Top with whipped cream and/or cacao powder.

5. Americano

  • Espresso
  • Water
  1. Fill a coffee mug 3/4 full with water and heat it in the microwave to desired temperature.
  2. Add one or two espresso shots (depending on what level of caffeine you desire) and enjoy!
